Car Donation: A Few Thoughts

Car Donation: A Few Thoughts

Thank you for considering Activated Ministries for your car donation. We appreciate and need every vehicle that comes our way.  While receiving car donations allows us to fund more of our exciting projects around the globe, there are other ways that giving your car away benefits everybody.

For one, car donation is changing people's lives every day in this country. Donors are getting rid of old clunkers they'd never use in a million years, cleaning up their yard, and getting great tax breaks in the process. Recipients are finally getting the help they need to kick start their lives and get things back on track. All in all, it's a great boon to society.

Another thing: we're starting to get the older cars off the road, the cars that cause a lot of the pollution that's giving our world fits. People who are doing car donation are then going out and buying newer, more economical cars. This stimulates our beleaguered economy, especially the faltering automobile sector, and it helps ensure that our children's children will face a better future with less man made pollution. And that's a very, very good thing.

Donating A Car Is A Big Decision

Donating A Car Is A Big Decision To Make

It's an extremely important decision to make, and it should never be treated flippantly or casually, but I think - for most people - donating a car to charity is an excellent choice in almost every situation. For a young person who's never had to make a big financial decision, it's perfect because it teaches them about taxes, tax deductions, Blue Book values, and it teaches them the importance and value of helping one's fellow man out in a tough spot. In fact, that's something we could all probably stand to learn. We can't rely on other people to pick up the slack and donate to charity all the time, so donating a car to charity - donating your own car on your own time - is one way to seize control of the situation and start committing good deeds. You can't expect other people to do everything; that's why were in this mess in the first place!

Donating a car to charity can even be seen as a totally selfish act, if you aren't interested in helping people out. And that's totally fine. As long as you're still donating a car and helping someone, it doesn't matter that your motivation isn't selfless. The end result is what matters. As long as there's a happy family with a new chance at a good life, things have worked out.

Donate A Car And Improve Your Life

If you're ever wondering why your life isn't going as well as you once imagined it would, think about whether or not you should donate a car to charity. While it may seem like giving away something for free is the last thing you should be doing, it can be a surprising boost to your quality of life. After all, a big part of living well and feeling well is knowing that you're doing good deeds and helping others with their problems. When you donate a car to charity, you are definitely helping someone less fortunate than you - and even if you don't believe in a deity or in karma or anything like that, it's generally a good thing to help people by donating to charity.

Donate A Car To Charity

So what's stopping you from deciding to finally donate a car to charity? Unless you absolutely do not have an extra car to spare, there is no good reason not to do it. You know it's true. If you have that extra car collecting dust and becoming a repository for weeds and small wildlife on your lawn (while also drawing the ire of your neighbors for lowering the property values with your display), why not donate it? Donate a car to charity and watch all the secret benefits mount up and give you peace of mind that you're finally doing something to help people out.

In these Financially Challenging Times - You can Make a Difference

Aug 13th, 2009

Everyone is facing a difficult time during this financial crisis, including charities like Activated Ministries who are finding it difficult to fund the programs that make a difference in the lives of many needy families and individuals!  Vehicle donations are a traditional way to give to charity and the funding from donated cars goes a long way in helping to alleviate the suffering of those in need.  By donating your car to charity you can benefit by getting a valuable tax deduction, avoiding the hassle of trying to sell your car when it needs mechanical repairs, and being able to get the car that's been sitting in your driveway for months towed away for free.  But the greatest benefit of your donation is that you can know you are extending a helping hand to those less fortunate!  Thank you for donating your car to charity!

Donate A Car To Charity

We say it almost every time we post a blog to our site: donate a car to charity! I'm sure it gets old hearing us prattle on and on about it, but we can't help but talk about our enthusiasm for the practice. After all, that's why we got into the business - to help others donate cars to charity and to help people benefit from it. When you believe in something as strongly as we do, you have a moral obligation to promote that cause, especially when the cause is objectively shown to be beneficial to large swathes of the population at large. This isn't religion, or dogma we're promoting; this is an act of giving and kindness that has been shown to be good for society as a whole. It would be remiss of us to fail to discuss it and try to promote its profligation throughout society.

Donate A Car For Many Reasons

You can donate a car for many reasons - selfish (tax breaks), selfless (helping others), utilitarian (getting rid of an old car that's just taking up space) - but whatever your reasons, your donation will go toward furthering a good cause. The ends truly do justify the means, because when you donate a car to charity your donation will help a family down on their luck. That is always a good, moral thing, no matter the original reasons for the donation in the first place. So, whether you decide to donate a car for tax breaks, for feeling good about yourself, or even just to get an old car out of the way so you can move on to a new one, you will be doing a good deed - so get out there and donate a car to charity!

Car Donation Is More Important Than Ever

Car Donation Is Crucial

With the economy finally beginning to show signs of life, halting all car donation altogether could be the killing blow that sets it back on the course toward failure. You see, when people are donating cars on a regular basis, it isn't just the mark of a prosperous economy. It also helps fuel an economy.

Good Marker

Why is widespread car donation such a good sign for an ailing economy? Simple. It indicates that people are finally beginning to feel charitable again. People in dire economic straits tend to hold on to their possessions for dear life; they're not bad people, but the circumstances force them to be selfish. It's basic human nature. When you have less and there's no light at the end of the tunnel in sight, you're going to hold on to what you have. When things are looking up, you're more likely to donate to charity. You think a poor family without any means of transportation would be willing to give up their car just to help someone in need? They might, but doing so would put their own prosperity into question. If the car donation rates are rising, it's a good sign that the economy is finally improving.

While it's an important marker for economic health, car donation also has an appreciably beneficial effect on the economy itself. More donations and more charity allow more people to get on their feet and improve their station in life. If people are improving their lives, they're making more money, spending that money, and the economy is feeling the effects. Just think - your simple little car donation could be the impetus for someone's economic revival.

Donating A Car And Getting One With Better Mileage

Donating A Car Lets You Get A Better One

Most of us get into donating a car to charity for just that: the charitable aspect of it all. You do it because you're helping someone in need and providing a fantastic service to a family who really needs it. And we are continually going to stress that aspect of the donation process; after all, helping people is why we got into this business in the first place. But there also exist other reasons for people to get into donating a car to charity, reasons that might technically be a bit more "selfish" but that also provide objective, measurable benefits for society at large.

Think about the reasons why people decide they're doing to donate. People usually do it out of the kindness of their hearts, but they don't donate a brand new car, do they? No. They'll donate a car only have it's been acting up, failing to start, or something better comes along. And that is totally natural, understandable behavior. I mean, we're nice, good people, but we're not nice enough to give away a brand new car!

Gas prices are going up once again, and they'll only continue to get more and more expensive as time goes on. Eventually you're going to want to upgrade to a car with better fuel economy, and donating a car to charity - a car that currently gets poor gas mileage - can be seen as the impetus for the change. If you're thinking about getting rid of your old clunker anytime soon, consider donating a car to charity. You'll help a family, help the environment, and you'll be able to justify purchasing a better, newer, cooler car that gets more miles to the gallon.

Donate A Car, Even If You Don't Have One

Donate A Car To Charity Indirectly

This builds off of the last blog post, the one in which we suggested anyone wishing to donate a car to charity without actually having one available for donation could circumvent the limit by convincing someone else to donate a car instead. Today, we'll look at some simple, basic methods for convincing those skeptical people in your life of the benefits of donating a car to charity.

1. Be A Living Example Of Success

The surest way to convince someone that what you're doing is the right way is to be incredibly successful. You can't argue with results, and being happy, having money, and actively showing that your decision to donate a car to charity was the right one is the best way to convince someone else to donate a car, too.

2. Show Them the Ropes

People are by nature unsure of themselves. They are content to languish in the background and let things come to them, rather than seize life by its throat and make something happen. You, however, are not. You decided to donate a car to charity, and now you want other people to have the same experience. Well, without showing them how to do it themselves, most people simply won't get up and learn the ropes. You're going to have to show them the ropes, which brings us to the last tip...

3. Direct Them to the Website!

You've tried telling them just how easy it is to donate a car to charity, and they either don't believe you or they're too lazy to find out for themselves. Rather than make a big presentation with cue cards, Powerpoint, and graphs, just direct them to our website. We have all the info anyone would ever need to get started on the path to donate a car to charity, neatly packaged and ready to go at the drop of a hat.

 Good luck!

Car Donation Blues

Got The Car Donation Blues?

I know, I know. We hear about this quite often, actually, from our readers and our customers. You've had such great experiences donating your cars to charity that you're actually upset when you don't have a car to donate. Well, car donation in all respects should be the goal - even if you aren't the one donating it. That means that if you're feeling down or lousy because you've already done all the car donation you can, don't just sit there! Get up and convince someone else to donate their car to charity. As long as someone is contributing to the greater cause, good is being done. And hey, one the best things about car donation is the great feeling it gives you to help out a more unfortunate person, charity, or family. If you can't donate a car yourself, why not help someone else do it? You'll be reaching an identical end goal and you'll be helping out another person just the same.

Car donation is supposed to be about helping people. When you convince someone to donate a car by showing them the blog, telling them about the Donate A Car 2 Charity service, you are helping even more people than if you were to do the car donation yourself! The person you convince to become a donor gets the tax break and the satisfaction from helping someone, and the person or people who benefit from the car donation get the very tangible benefits. It's almost like you're making two car donations!

Next time you get the hankering for a car donation, talk to a friend, family member or co worker about donating a car to charity.

Car Donation Is Perfect For Hot Summer Weather

Car Donation Just In Time For Summer

Summer has arrived, and with it comes the requisite hot weather, cold drinks, and fun in the sun. But what about those people who cannot get to the beach? What about that family who lives a few miles inland? The dad who's been promising his kids a trip to the beach for the longest time, if only his car would start? Car donation can go a long way to helping these unfortunate people out in a tight spot. There's nothing worse than sitting at home with the windows open and the fans spinning in a desperate, futile attempt to escape the oppressive heat, and the beach is only six miles away but the car just won't start and the buses are too crowded. Car donation can help provide either a working car or other assistance to a family in this predicament, so they'll either be able to drive themselves or improve their station in life enough to buy a car.

Car Donation Is The Right Thing To Do

And hey - the guy who's doing the car donation gets something out of it, too. Besides the satisfaction of helping out your fellow man, you'll also be getting yourself a nice healthy tax break for the future. That way, you can enjoy your summer, spend a little extra cash, and relax without worrying about tax season coming up. Car donation opens up myriad avenues for everyone it affects. When you donate your car, you'll be helping everyone around you and you'll be giving yourself the opportunity to enjoy your life - tax and guilt free.
