What paperwork do I need to donate my vehicle in Florida?
In most cases we need the title to the vehicle. But, if you do not have title papers you can apply for a replacement title before donating your vehicle. Please visit the Florida DMV web site to obtain the necessary forms before donating: Florida Motor Vehicle Department
How do I release the liability of my donated vehicle in Florida?
Fill out a Notice of Sale (HSMV form 82050) and mail it to your local tax collector's office. For additional information, please refer to the Florida DMV web site: Florida Motor Vehicle Department
What types of vehicles do not require a title in Florida?
ATV's, off road vehicles, snowmobiles, mopeds, and trailers under 2000 lbs.
Where do I sign the title before donating my car in Florida?
On the title, the donor should fill in the name and address of the charity, the odometer information, and the date sold in the "Transfer of Title by Seller" section. They must then sign their name in the left column in the Seller section and hand print their name in the right column, same section. The charity should then sign their name in the left column in the Purchaser section and hand print their name in the right column, same section.
What do I do with my license plates on my donated vehicle?
The plates need to be canceled and recycled. This is done by removing them and taking them in to a local county tax collector's office or mailing them to:
