I've got the title in front of me now where do I sign?:

Release ownership by signing on line 7, off to the right on the back of the title. If there is a lien on the vehicle the lien holder must sign on line 1 in the "Lien of Release or Security Interest" section. The lien release must include the date signature of the authorized agent, and the agent's title.

You must unregister your tag or license after the sale in order to release liability of the vehicle. You'll just need to visit your local Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) office providing proper identification and complete a form.

I'm the registered owner but I can't find my title:

Duplicate Title: If your title has been lost, stolen, mutilated, destroyed, countered, or has become illegible and you are the registered owner you can apply for Georgia duplicate title MV-1 Application at your local tax commissioner's office along with a $8 fee. This will allow you to obtain a new title.

If you want to donate your vehicle but you don't have the title and you don't want to get it, we can take care of the duplicate title process for you. All you need to do is fill out the forms below and hold onto them until the tow agent comes to pickup your car.

A notarized Georgia Secure Power of Attorney signed by all owners listed on the title (the yellow copy is used to apply for the duplicate title and the remainder of the Secure POA is used to sign the duplicate title when it is received from the DMV) and a lien release if applicable.

The owner of the vehicle is deceased:

The vehicle was abandoned on my property:

In most cases we will be able to pick up the vehicle. If we need paperwork from you it will usually be in the form or your signature on a paper describing where the vehicle was left and your request for us to remove it.
