Needed Paperwork:
In most cases we need the title to the vehicle. But, if you do not have title papers please check in at your local Washington D.C. Motor Vehicle Department office.

Is my car donation made in Washington D.C. tax deductible?
Vehicles that are donated on this site will benefit Activated Ministries, a nonprofit classified with the IRS as a 501(c)3 charitable organization and are tax deductible. You will receive a minimum tax deduction of $500 for any automobile donated to Donate a Car 2 Charity. Of course if your vehicle is auctioned for more than the minimum, you will receive a second receipt containing the greater value.
License plates and release of liability
The license plates for your donated vehicle need to be returned to a Washington D.C. Motor Vehicle Department location near you. This de-registers your vehicle and keeps you from getting charged taxes, registration fees, and fines for traffic infractions that your donated vehicle may incur after you've donated your vehicle.
