Did you donate a car to charity in 2014? First of all, thank you for your giving! Support received from car donations go a long way towards making our special projects and ministries possible! If you would like to know more about projects 2014 vehicle donations helped to fund, please click here for more information. Once again, thank you and God bless you! You play a big part in each of the projects we support.

Besides the blessings you receive from your giving and generosity, donating a car entitles you to a car donation tax deduction for the calendar year in which you donate. For instance, if you donated your vehicle by December 31, 2014, you get to claim it as a tax deduction when you file your 2014 taxes.

The amount you can claim as a deduction varies depending on several factors. You should have received an initial tax receipt from our charity at the time of car pick up allowing you to claim up to $500 as a deduction. However, if your vehicle sells for more than $500.00, either at auction or private party sale, we will send you a second receipt with the actual sale amount. This second receipt is the one you want to use when filing your taxes as it will allow to claim more than just $500.00.

If you have any other questions about the process for charitable contributions or the tax receipt for your vehicle donation, please feel free to call us at 877-505-5775 or email us at mail@donateacar2charity.com. Although we are not CPAs and cannot give you legal or personalized financial advice, we can give you general information about the car donation tax deduction and answer most questions.  At the very least, we can try and point you in the right direction for more information.

Happy New Year!
